It was announced back in June that Sing 2 has been pushed back a whole year – to December 22nd 2021 – due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It’s the latest revamp in Universal’s schedule in the wake of mass shuttering of multiplexes due to the coronavirus pandemic. Though movie theaters in some states have started to reopen, the majority of cinema chains are still closed.
Judd Apatow’s “The King of Staten Island,” a comedy starring Pete Davidson, will also debut on digital rental services on June 12 in lieu of a traditional theatrical rollout. In April, the studio dropped “Trolls World Tour” on video-on-demand and in drive-ins. Meanwhile, “Fast and Furious” installment “F9,” the next “Minions” sequel, and “Sing 2” were all pushed into 2021. (Variety)
A slightly smaller update today than previously – the 2016 TV Appearances section of the Gallery has been updated. We already had photos from most of the appearances but there are a few additional photos & screencaptures, including from Reese’s interviews on Ellen & Jimmy Fallon. Reese did a bit of promotion for Draper James and Sing in 2016, but was relatively low profile compared to the previous few years!
Most available videos have already been posted – browse through our 2016 news archives to watch them, and find the clip from The Project below.
Reese appeared on the Today with Hoda & Jenna segment of The Today Show yesterday, as part of her on-going promotion for Big Little Lies. She talked about the show and cast, but also chatted about why she likes being the age she is, her kids and her relationships with them, her priorities, Little Fires Everywhere, The Morning Show, Legally Blonde 3, and Sing 2 (she just did some recording for it last week she said). This is my favourite of her recent interviews – it’s great hearing her talk about all her upcoming shows, and how she’s matured as a person. Find screencaptures in the Gallery and watch the interview below:
We’re almost done completing the Films section of our Gallery! The Sing category has been updated with a few stills, posters, and screencaptures from various featurettes and interviews. Reese voiced the adorable and perky pig Rosita – and of course sang for the role. This was a fun movie with some enjoyable music moments – and we’re looking forward to the sequel!
There’s been lots of news & updates posted this weekend so be sure to keep on scrolling down to see all the latest…

Comments Off on Reese starts recording for “Sing 2”
Almost 2 years ago it was announced that Sing would have a sequel, and this week director Garth Jennings has posted photos of the cast recording for their roles! Sing 2 will be released on December 25th 2010. Here’s Reese in the recording booth:
One year ago Reese was busy promoting her then-new movie Sing, the animated musical comedy with an all-star cast. She voiced the lovely Rosita the pig, a mother to 25 piglets who dreams of realising her singing goal. The movie was fun with some great musical moments – what did you all think of it? Today, I have added a few HD screencaptures from the movie to our Gallery for you:
Reese took time out of her holiday in the Caribbean to chat to fans on Facebook live yesterday. She and co-star Laura Dern also did an interview on Instagram. They revealed that they are considering a second season of Big Little Lies…

Reese Witherspoon Hopes Her Kids Know Her ‘As an Individual’: ‘You Were a Person Before You Were a Mom’
Reese Witherspoon has three kids, which seems easily manageable when compared to her Sing character Rosita’s 25. But the actress and the animated performing pig do have something big in common.
“I have three kids of my own — sometimes it feels like 25,” says Witherspoon, 40, who is mom to sons Tennessee James, 4, and Deacon Reese, 13, and daughter Ava Elizabeth, 17.
“But the idea that you were a person before you were a mom, and that sometimes you really hope that your kids know who you are as an individual,” she adds of how she relates to Rosita, a single mom with dreams of hitting the big time.
Rosita does have one thing over her real-life counterpart, though: some serious engineering prowess.
“I’m very envious of Rosita’s building and technology,” Witherspoon says with a laugh of her character’s impressive parenting skills. “She somehow builds this entire contraption that feeds all 25 children, and puts their backpacks on and says goodnight to them and reads them bedtime stories.”
“And it’s really hard to find a babysitter when you have 25 kids,” the working mom jokes.
“Singing is joyful — I think it’s an affirmation of life, and that there’s so much to celebrate in this life,” the Legally Blonde alum and Draper James founder shares.
“If one of [my kids] tells [another] one to stop singing, I say, ‘Never tell somebody to stop singing. That means they’re happy or they have song in their heart,’ ” she continues. “It’s a beautiful expression of who we are as human beings.”
Sing is available Friday on Digital HD, and on Blu-ray and DVD March 21.
